Release Date and Roadmap
Blizzard has set May 20 as the launch date for the highly anticipated return of the Cataclysm expansion in World of Warcraft: Classic. Before the grand release, players can expect an exciting pre-patch event starting on April 30. This event mirrors the dramatic changes brought by Cataclysm's original pre-patch, introducing playable Worgen and Goblins, unleashing the formidable dragon Deathwing on Azeroth, and reshaping the continents' landscapes.
New Content
Upon the full expansion's launch on May 20, players will venture into seven new zones, explore nine fresh dungeons, conquer three raid dungeons, and delve into the mysteries of the Archeology profession. The addition of flying mounts in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms will enhance exploration. The revamped landscapes will introduce a plethora of new quests while bidding farewell to old ones, creating a dynamic and evolving world. Subsequent patches will unveil more content, with Rise of the Zandalari arriving in July, Rage of the Firelands in October, and Hour of Twilight in January of 2025.
Map Changes
Cataclysm brings about significant alterations to Azeroth's map. Witness the Barrens being split in two, Thousand Needles submerged underwater, and Darkshore's coastline reshaped by natural forces. Beware of Deathwing's presence, as he roams the skies and can ignite entire zones at random, adding an element of unpredictability to your adventures.
